We were able to attend Kylie's very first dance recital this month. I was so excited for her and she was so excited to be able to dance on the stage. They danced to a song called "I got the Chicken Pox for Christmas." She did an amazing job! She remembered all of her dance moves and was as cute as could be. There is something about watching your own child perform. I was so proud of her that I had to try really hard not to cry. She loved every minute of it and loved to watch the older girls perform. She hopes to be one of those older girls one day.

Halloween- 2010
Corbin was a crazy BYU fan this year. He wasn't really that into it this year. He could care less what he is dressed as, as long as he gets the candy.
Kylie was a witch. She settled for a witch when I couldn't find a Strawberry Shortcake costume. That is what she really wanted. She was an adorable witch.

Kylie starts Preschool
Kylie started a new preschool this year. We enrolled her in the West Jordan High School's preschool. This is where the high school students teach the preschool. Each high school student is paired up with a preschooler and they become buddies. I have never seen Kylie so excited to go somewhere as she is on preschool days. She really enjoys it.
Playoffs and Championship- 2010
With all their hard work through the regular season, Corbin's team earned a spot in the playoffs. They went up against Woods Cross. It was an exciting game but we were able to come out with the win! That helped us advance to the Championship game.
We went into the championship game playing an undefeated Stansbury team. We had played them in regular season and they beat us by 6 points. We were so excited and pumped up to play them again. This time didn't go as planned. We ended up losing with a final score of 20-0. That team had an amazing defense and they were able to hold us the whole game.
We walked away with our heads held high. We played a great game and we were very happy with how far we had made it. Way to go West Jordan Gremlin black team!! You guys rock!

2010 Football Season (Carson)
Carson's football season couldn't end soon enough. We had a rough season with his team, between coaching and losing it was just not a fun year.
I was proud of him for sticking it out. He never knew what position he was going to play. It was different every game and every practice. I was so frustrated this year that I actually yelled at a coach. It's hard to see a coach ruin a sport that your kid loves and make it so they never want to play again. Carson ended his season with a 1 and 8 record. So sad, but we still love him.

2010 Football Season (Corbin)
Corbin's team did amazing this year! He got put on a great team with an awesome coach. Corbin played tackle on the line. He was an X man. He did a fantastic job this year. He never came out of the game. He played offense and defense. He was a big part of the team. He was also a team captain!
He was so fun to watch this year. We looked forward to going to his games.

Corbin's 10th Birthday
We also had Corbin's birthday in September. He turned 10 this year. It was a very low key birthday. We had cake and ice cream and then took him to a movie and dinner. Grandma and Grandpa Neal were able to be here this year and they came along with us.
Star Wars cake.
His presents were a remote control Millennium Falcon and two Nerf guns. It may have been low key but I think he was happy.

Mom's 60th Birthday
So this past September my mom turned the big 60! My dad attempted to throw a surprise party for her but that was ruined early on. We ended up having the party anyway. She had her best friend from high school show up to her 60th birthday.
My dad asked me to make her a cake. I wasn't thrilled with it but it turned out OK.
My wonderful mom doesn't look a day over 40. I hope I look as good as she does when I turn 60. We also had a slide show from pictures all throughout her life and shared memories that we had about her. It turned out to be a great night. She is amazing and I hope she lives another 60 years!

Our Little Tootsie Turns 5
Wow it has been a long time since I have blogged. It has been a crazy summer. Our Kylie Joy has turned 5 years old. She designed her own cake this year. She saw a picture of a similar one, that had care bears on it. She told us to take off the care bears and add horses. Then instead of spice drops she told us to add gumballs. She asked her grandma Latimer to make her cake this year. I think it turned out pretty cute.
Kylie and I spent the day together. I asked her what she wanted to do and she said she would like to take her daddy to lunch at McDonald's. So we went down and took David out for a happy meal. Then she wanted to go see the animals at the humane society. She fell in love with an Austrailian Cattle dog while we were there. She sat and played with that dog for about 30 minutes and she did not want to leave. Next we started preparing for her party. We picked out balloons and ice cream.

Kylie started in on her cake even before her guests arrived. Grandma encouraged her to start licking a sucker. Naughty Grandma!

Kylie's Soccer
Kylie just started playing her very first sport this spring. She chose to play soccer. When she first started she was really excited and would chase around the ball, but as time went on it has become more of a fashion show or something. She is in la la land out on the Field. she will run as she is looking down at her pink cleats and she will flip her hair around. Every once in awhile she will kick the ball. She is so fun to watch because you never know what she will do out there. Her coach will ask for volunteers to come out and take a break and she will volunteer every time because she says she needs a rest and a drink. Depends on the day with her, but she is always excited to go. She told me one day that she was excited that it was a game day because that is when she got a treat. What a fun little girl, I can't wait to watch more.
Kaleb's is now 14
Holy crap how time flies. My son just turned 14 years old this month. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. He is becoming quite a young man. He has finally passed me up in height and we weigh the same right now, but not for long. I'm sure he will pass me up in that in the next couple of months. It has been an amazing 14 years having him in our family. Our family wouldn't be the same without him. We love you, Kaleb and we are glad you are part of our family.

Shakespeare
Sixth grade at our school means studying some Shakespeare. Each sixth grade class does a play. Carson's class did "The Comedy of Errors," where Carson played a merchant trying to gather money that he was owed. This is a fairly confusing play to follow. Carson took his part seriously and really did a good job memorizing his lines. He even memorized several other parts. He would practice his lines with me and I would tell him to speak slowly and clearly so everyone could understand him. I am pleased to say that he took my advice, because he was the loudest and most clear one in the play. Great Job Carson!
Dance
Kylie is improving so much in her dance class. I was so excited to see her dancing around the room. She is doing her rock and roll moves in this Picture.
This was the last day of dance for the year so they all had the chance to be 'A Star" in the middle of the room. They all got to wear a feather boa, a tiara, and carry a wand. When they got to the middle of the room, they twirled around and then posed for a picture.

It is so fun to watch your children grow and develop. Kylie is excited to dance again. Next year she will be in a performing group. I think she's most excited that she gets to have a costume.
D.A.R.E. Graduation
Carson graduated from DARE about a week ago. The entire sixth grade all graduated, so they were rewarded by going to Salsa Leedos for lunch and they are having a LaGoon Day for all DARE graduates later in the month. I am very proud of him for working so hard and learning about how drugs and alcohol affect our bodies. He took an interest in it and I believe he will Never touch the stuff. I am thankful that our principal allows the DARE program into our school because I think it is a great program. The West Jordan Mayor came to their graduation, along with the Police chief of West Jordan. They congratulated all of them. The police chief said that when any student graduates from DARE, they are actually put into the system. This means they have an actual record. If any of these students ever get into trouble with the law, it will show in the system that they are a DARE graduate.

Easter 2010
We had a very laid back and wonderful Easter this year. We were able to watch General Conference and relax all morning and afternoon. I think I was in my pajamas until 4:30 p.m, when I then decided to get dressed because we had Sara and her family coming over for dinner and an Easter egg hunt. We had a great dinner together, I think it was the best meal I have had in a long time. We had ham, scalloped potatoes, salad, and rolls. We then finished it off with desert which was strawberry shortcake. The kids were now ready for the hunt. They all ran out the door and started scrambling for eggs.
Corbin really got in to it by crawling on his knees.

Here is sis with all of her eggs in one basket. I thought you weren't suppose to put all your eggs in one basket.
Kaleb found the ONLY silver egg. All the kids were upset that he got it. I don't know why because there were only jelly beans inside it.

Even though we had a fun time, I must reflect on the true meaning of Easter. My testimony is still growing about Jesus Christ. I know that he died for me and that through The Atonement, I can make it back to my Heavenly Father's presence. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for me. I am thankful for all I have been blessed with, especially my amazing family.
