Getting Ready for Santa
So I thought it was time to move on from Halloween and straight into Christmas. Sunday was the day that we were all feeling like putting up the tree. Kaleb and Carson pulled everything out of the shed while David was at church meetings. We set up the tree and waited for David to come home before we decorated it. It's a tradition that we all help put the ornaments on the tree.
She's trying to sneak one on prematurely.

This is Kylie trying to be patient. She was wanting to put the ornaments on so bad, but I made her wait for her daddy to come home.
Here is Kaleb and Jack waiting for the cat to come out from under the tree. Jack was ready to pounce.

FINALLY daddy got home and we were ready to start decorating. Kylie was so excited and she would hang all the ornaments in the same spot. We helped her space them out.
Another tradition is that the star is the last thing put on the tree. Kaleb got the honors this year. I love the feeling of Christmas time. I love sitting in the room with the Christmas tree and turning off all the lights except for the tree. It's such a cozy feeling. I enjoy the time that our family spends together, making memories. I am ready for Santa!

Halloween 2009
Kaleb came home one day from school and said, Mom I want to be a grandma for Halloween. It surprised me a little, but I thought it would be a great idea. We went to the DI to shop for his dress. I picked up several dresses for him to look at, but when I finally picked up the one in the picture, he said yep that's the one. I thought it turned out pretty cool. He is the cutest grandma I have ever seen.
Carson was set on being a BYU fan this year. He was BYU from his head down to his toes. He wore the blue wig, the painted face, a BYU shirt, BYU pajama bottoms, and to top it all off he wore our Y flag as a cape. They had a Halloween parade for school and he actually got booed by some Utah fans. That just goes to show how much class Utah fans have. NONE! GO BYU!!!!!!

Corbin made it easy on me this year. I asked him what he wanted to be and he said a football player. We already had everything for that. He saved me some money. Thanks Corb!
Kylie was set on being a care bear this year(that's what she was last year)so we pulled out the costume box and tried it on. It was way too small, so we pulled out the Cat in the Hat costume and it fit her perfectly. She is the cutest Cat in the Hat that I have ever seen. She was so excited when she saw herself in it. All of them turned out great this year. The only thing that sucked this Halloween , is that I came down with the flu and am stuck at home. I HATE missing out on Halloween.

3rd Grade Field Trip
I don't normally love to go on field trips, but Corbin pulled his big brown puppy dog sad eyes on me and said Please, please, please. How can you say no to a face like that. I should be glad that they still want me around. So off we went to "This is the Place State Park".
I guess that they have been learning about Indians in school so we learned more about the Native Americans while we were up at the park. Here is Corbin sitting in one of the dwellings that a Native American from Utah would have built. It is a big round stucture, made of wood and mud. It has a big hole in the top of it, so that when they would make a fire inside, the smoke could escape.

Corbin learned how to grind corn with a stone to make cornmeal. He enjoyed doing this, but I can't imagine having to do this all day long, like the Indians did.
Principal's PRIDE
Corbin recieved his Principal's Pride award this month. He was awarded this because of his the work he is doing in his class. He is learning cursive this year and is doing very well with that. He also has strong math skills. We are proud of him and the efforts he makes at school. Keep up the good work Corbin!
Corbin's Birthday- 9 YEARS OLD
Ok so it has been a while since Corbin's birthday, but I don't get many chances to blog anymore. I have to start out by saying how much I love these kids. They are such good friends and they have been awesome for Corbin. We started our party off by going swimming, but I had to leave the camera at home like a tard, so there are no pictures of that. Then we came back to our house and had a fire in the backyard fire pit. We roasted Hot dogs and Smores.
David and I got him a Fuzion Scooter that he had been asking for and Mario Kart for the Wii. I think he uses both of them on a daily basis.

Kylie, was so sweet. She went and got one of her brand new stuffed animals and wrapped it up in her coat and gave it to Corbin for his birthday present. She really wanted him to have something from her.

The DEW TOUR 2009
We bought tickets to the Dew Tour this year. For all of you who don't know what that is, it is like the Xtreme sports. Such as skateboarding, and BMX biking. My boys really like that stuff. We pulled a no school day and went off to see these sporting events. While we were there, Kylie and Corbin had the opportunity to learn how to ride motorcycles. They looked so cute getting dressed in all the gear.
This is Corbin riding all by himself. They gave him a couple of pointers and then he was off on his own. He did awesome! For never riding a motorcycle before, he did a great job. He picked it up right away. He never tipped over or crashed, it was smooth riding the whole way.

Here is Kylie, riding with one of the trainers. She was having a blast. She would wave at me every time she came around the circle. The guy riding with her did a wheelie and she didn't like that too much. She prefers to have her two wheels on the ground.
Kylie turns 4
Kylie turned 4 on the 4th of September. I tried to keep her party simple, so we had a slip and slide for them to play on. I had a feeling that they would only play on it for a little while and boy was I right. They only played on it for about 10 minutes, and they were ready for more things to do. Big problem though, I didn't really plan anything else. There was some major DRAMA going on and I was about ready to scream and we still had 1 hour and 45 minutes left of the party to go. I am finding more and more how much harder a little girl is.
We played a round of musical chairs. It didn't go so well though. Kylie had a complete melt down for some reason. I don't even know what her problem was, but that is how we ended musical chairs.
s
I procrastinated getting a cake for Kylie, so on the day of her party we went to Macey's to pick one out. They just had generic ones, so I started to feel bad because I didn't get one ordered. As we were looking for a cake that would work, our sweet neighbor who works there in the bakery saw us and asked if she could help us. I said we are just trying to pick out a cake for Kylie's party. She told me that she would be more than happy to make Kylie the one that she wanted. Kylie picked out the Little Mermaid. A big thank you goes out to our neighbor for giving Kylie the cake she wanted and doing it at the last minute. We had a couple of extra visitors when we sat down for cake. The missionaries were walking by so we invited them over for cake and ice cream. It was a hot day so they came over and had cake and ice cream with all these little 4 year old girls. It was cute. I should have taken a picture, but didn't think of it until they were gone.
Even though we had some drama, I am so happy to have this little girl in my life. She has me wrapped around her little finger. She sure keeps things interesting and exciting around here.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLIE! We love you.
