My dear, sweet Grandma passed away on February 3, 2009. She was 87 years old and died of cancer. I was listening to a song by Josh Groban today and it made me think of her. She was such a special part of my life, especially as an adult I felt I grew close to her. I remember going to visit her and my grandpa as a child. We went quite often and that is where we got to see our cousins and hang out. I remember putting pennies on the railroad tracks by her house, so that the train could smash them. I also looked forward to going to my grandma's house as a kid because that meant we got to go spend a dollar at the penny candy store. We could get a whole bag of Candy for just $1.00. Exciting stuff for a little kid. I also loved to go down to the dam and go fishing or just take walks. We had a great time when we went to grandma's house. My grandma moved in with my parents after her husband Fred died. I got the opportunity to have some late night talks with her. She had a very special bond with my daughter Kylie. Kylie would have great grandma chasing her around the house playing tag or hide and go seek. She would want her great grandma to hold her and rock her. When great grandma was around she didn't want anything to do with me. I remember New Years 2008, my grandma stayed up with us until about 1:00 am and she was chasing Kylie through the house all night. She had such an amazing sweet spirit. She showed me how important the gospel was to her by attending the temple and church regardless of how she was feeling. I love you Grandma and I miss you.
