The Dreaded DENTIST

Here is Corbin pointing at the tooth(I mean space where a tooth used to be) he had to have pulled today. We thought we were just going in for a crown, but as soon as the dentist looked at it he said "oh no that's going to have to come out." I had to read all the terrible things that COULD happen from pulling a tooth and sign my consent to possibly have Corbin never feel his face again or bleed to death. Those dumb consent forms scare you to death, anyway I waited in the waiting room because my kids react more dramatic if I am around. I was sitting there for about ten minutes when I hear a scream come from the back. I could tell it was Corbin. I jumped up and the receptionist jumped up to see if he was OK. He was fine, but scared to death. I guess you feel a lot of pressure when they pull a tooth and that freaked him out. He walked out and had a mouth full of gauze with blood all over it. He was moaning and was not too happy. When we got home we were reading over the care instructions and he was upset that he couldn't drink out of a straw. I love straws he said. He cracks me up. He is all better now and feels like a new man. He has brushed his teeth about three times today. I know he never wants to do that again.
They gave him his rotten tooth in a little treasure chest. He thinks it's pretty cool and tries to gross people out with it. He asked if he had to give it to the tooth fairy. He thinks she comes automatically and will take your tooth whether it's under your pillow or not. It's funny the things they come up with on their own.

This is the tooth he had to have pulled. He was bleeding like crazy for about 20 minutes. He was very grouchy afterwards, Image that! This was a very good lesson about personal hygiene though. I told him that is why we brush twice a day and floss everyday. He does NOT want to have this happen again. I think it was a little tramatic, but he got over it real quick. He has to go back in 2 weeks to have a spacer put in. Hurray for the Dentist!
