Corbin's 2nd Grade field trip

I have to start off by saying, that I remember why I took the year off from helping at the school. Second graders drive me crazy! Maybe it was just the ones that I was in charge of. Well, to start it off we went on a walking field trip to Maceys grocery store. They gave us a great tour. I felt bad for the shoppers that day, because they were overrun by a bunch of 8 year olds.
Here is Corbin, getting his free cookie in the bakery. The lady put a cute little flower of frosting on it and Corbin, being the boy he is starts spreading it all over his cookie with his dirty fingers. YUMMY!

Here is my well behaved boy waiting patiently to enter the store. All the other kids were climbing on the bags of salt and were even ripping them open.

This is the meat department where she showed them cow tongue, cow heart and cow stomach. That explains some looks on their faces!

This is the big refrigerator. They thought this was pretty cool. They got to see how they stock the shelves with milk and yogurt. We ended the field trip at the West Jordan Care Center, where the kids sang to the patients. It was a good experience for them to do that service.

Corbin's 1st Pinewood Derby - 2009

Here is the Cougar car.. Corbin insisted on having a BYU car. I must admit, it is pretty cool. His dad helped him with the whole thing, except for the stickers. That was mom's expertise.

Watching the other boys race, and waiting for his turn. He received an award for honorable mention on the design of his car, however he DID NOT place. His car finished in the top 8 cars. He didn't care though, he was having too much fun.

Standing with dad and showing off their car! In between races, David decided to try and fix a wobble that Corbin had in his wheel. As he was adjusting the wheel, the whole corner of the car snapped off. Corbin wasn't done racing so David pulled out the super glue and he glued it back together. It seemed to work just fine, but being the stresser that I am, I kinda panicked for him. I didn't want his car to fall apart on the track.

I love this picture because it shows the excitement on his face. He was having a great time.

Here he goes placing his car on the track for the next heat.

Showing off their awesome cars. They now plan to meet at a friends house and race them down the slide. His car will eventually die!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

A big Thank You goes out to Suzy and Ron for supplying us with the Salt Lake Bee's tickets. We had a great time. We had our own private box suite at the game. David some how got ahold of the camera and snapped this shot.
Kaleb was a little camera shy, so I had to take the shots I could get. He hung out with his cousin Matthew all night. They ate sunflower seeds, peanuts, cracker jacks, chips and salsa, hot dogs, a hamburger, icee, and popcorn. Oh and they had plenty of Coke and Dr. Pepper to wash all of that down.

Here Grandpa and Corbin are sharing the big basket of popcorn, while watching the Bee's kill the Iowa Cubs. Notice how grandpa dresses for the occasion. He has such spirit!

Carson and his friend Zack ready for a game of their own. They actually played a small game of their own inside the suite, until I had to put the kabosh on it when the ball hit the glass windows.
Our little CAVEMEN!

Here they are dancing to the music that was playing over the loud speaker.

David gettin' jiggy with it!

Corbin and Porter after getting their heads signed by BUMBLE the Bee! And yes it was permanent marker and yes we did have church the next day. I knew that Porter's parents were going to be so thrilled when he came home.

BUMBLE came into our suite and spent some time with the kids. Kylie was a little scared of him. You can tell by the look on her face.

Corbin getting his baseball signed by BUMBLE. He also got it signed by a Bee's player after the game, but my camera was dead by then.

They couldn't get enough of Bumble.

FINAL SCORE
Bee's- 16 Iowa-6
Yes it was a butt kickin'.

Flag Football

Corbin loves to play flag football. He has shown some major improvement since last year. He has been catching passes, diving for flags, and just having fun. He wants to play agin in the fall. He's not ready for tackle football yet, and he may never be. He has been working on forming his own team for the fall. He wants all his friends on his team.
He's snapping his fingers because his team just scored a touchdown.

A Day on the Farm

It was such a beautiful day today, I could not justify staying at home. We had to get outside, so we went to Wheeler farm. I was trying to take a couple of shots of Kylie, but she wasn't having any of it. She was too busy exploring.
This was another one of the pictures I tried to take, but as you can tell by the expression on her face, she was not going to cooperate.

This on the other hand she could NOT get enough of. She loved sitting on the tractor and pretending to drive it. She called it a "shovel" and I would say you mean the tractor and she would say yeah, I want to sit on the shovel again.

We took her little friend Miranda with us.

Here are the girls as we were on the tractor ride. They drive you around the whole farm. Every time we passed the animals the would say good-bye to them. "Bye chickens, bye cows, bye ducks," and then they would wave.

There were lots of baby animals. They were all so cute!

Kylie standing in front of the chicken coop that held the little, yellow, fuzzy chicks. Sooo Cute!

Standing on the fence, feeding the ducks our 3 week old bread. They seemed to enjoy every piece. We had a great time today. The mom needed to get out of the house!
